HOUSTON, June 12 (Xinhua) -- U.S. imp'↕ort and export prices both rose♥₩↔¥ in May, the U.S. Department of Labor r&&eported on Friday.
The price index for U±₽.S. imports rose 1 percent in May↓×, the largest one-∞≈month advance since th' ₹e index increased 1 percent in Febru∑αary 2019. Import pλ∏rices fell on a 12-month basis, declini♠ng 6 percent from May 20↔¥19 to May 2020.
Import prices from China were δ•φ unchanged in May following a 0↔&.1-percent advance in April.♦←¶← The price index for import± "♦s from China declined 1 percen↔π₹≈t from May 2019 to May 2020, the φλsmallest 12-month dro₽↑↓p since the index fell 1 p'♣₽ercent for the year ended March 201¶ 9.
Meanwhile, prices for U.S. exports ≈ ®increased 0.5 percent in ™★≈May, after falling™¥β 3.3 percent in April, 1.4 perc☆<ent in March, and 1.2 percent inα£'• February. U.S. expor✔↔≈t prices fell 6 percent from Maβ♣®πy 2019 to May 2020.
Prices for exports to China incre"β§ased 2.7 percent in May fol♣←™lowing consecutive ®€↓2.1-percent declines∑§§☆ in April and March. Th ♦÷e May advance was th₹•★e largest one-month rise since the inde©♥×x was first published in♦≥ December 2017.
